A practical quilting worksheet
Selvedge turns your measurements into diagrams and cutting estimates. Backing uses full-width panels; eight companion tools handle other tasks. Each states its assumptions. Fabric behavior and quilter requirements remain yours to confirm.
Choose the worksheet for the task
The binding and border tools plan specific strip constructions. The fabric calculator estimates repeated plain squares; the block calculator converts finished and unfinished dimensions and sizes a straight grid. They do not calculate the internal pieces of an arbitrary patchwork pattern.
The quilt size chart starts with mattress measurements and your chosen drop. The hexagon calculator counts a declared staggered layout. The batting calculator checks a single-piece roll cut. The pricing worksheet combines your costs, fees and margin or markup; it does not retrieve market prices. Read the shared methodology for the limits of all nine calculations.
Free tools, without an account
The tools are free and run in your browser. Keep a CSV or print/PDF copy of a checked result. Examples illustrate the arithmetic. Read how inputs and downloads are handled.
Check before you cut
Measure usable fabric after planned preparation. Allow separately for squaring and matching, and confirm backing requirements with your quilter.
Open the quilt backing calculator, read the calculation limits, or prepare a question or correction.
